Examinations

A regular dental examination is an essential part of maintaining a healthy mouth. Even if you carry out a perfect oral hygiene regime with regular brushing and flossing, problems may arise which if treated early can be more easily addressed than waiting until a more extensive and costly solution is required.

We carry out a full oral examination which includes dental and soft tissues, temporomandibular joints, muscles and lymph glands where appropriate. Radiographs are taken when necessary as an aid to diagnosis. In certain circumstances we may need to carry out a more detailed examination to present a choice of treatment plans in complex cases, which may include taking clinical photographs, study casts and a ct scan.

We occasionally recommend that we call on the services of a specialist, for example in orthodontic treatment planing, before giving a full estimate of all the treatment options available to you.
